I'm wondering...
What if someone contacts you and asks you to optimize his company's website
for Google.
What will be your top 3 of things to do or to check concerning the current
website?

I'd check the number of backlinks the existing numero uno for their
preferred search term has. If it's gazillions, I'd forget all about
optimising for that term and I'd look for a niche term in Wordtracker.
If it's less than a hundred or so then I'd give it a go.

Where did we get to with your site, Mark? I can't remember. I see
Mogga's back today as well. I saw something applicable to her today
but can't remember where I saw it - always the way.....

That's easy.
1. How much money do they have?
2. How much of it will they give me?
3. When will I get the money?
There are other important factors.
4. Why do I not have the money yet?
5. Can you pay me more money?
5a. Why won't you pay me more money?
................
617. Still waiting for money, it's been an hour since I last emailed
you!!!!!
617a. Can I collect the money in person?
618. Title element
619. Headers
620. Something about optimising content.
Last few might not be that important though.
LOL

No, why who are they?
621. Do Execute have lots of money?
622. Will they send me a lot of it?

That's easy ;-)))
1. Make sure, he converts to use my CMS system on his website. (Especially
designed for searchengineoptimization)
2. Help him optimize the main page and instruct him, how to optimize the
rest of the pages himself.
3. Wait 2-3 weeks for the first good results to tick in, then fine tune and
wait again. In the meanwhile I would instruct him to contact other sites, to
get baclinks.
nice, easy and simple,- right ;-)))
Merry Christmas to all of you :-)))))
