Posters at most other forums are reporting being dropped almost
completely out of google in the past 2 days. Most of their google
traffic is off by 80-90%.

Any similiar experiences here?

I don't think they ever *stop* "pushing buttons." My primary site was
dropped completely 2 weeks ago, then a week later it popped back up at its
usual placement. This happens to me periodically, as well as occasionally
seeing a temporary big bump *up*.

Reading this NG, it seems a week doesn't go by without various people
reporting being dropped, while others are reporting popping up.

There are lots of changes, but the solid sites are still standing strong in
my niche. Some new, and pretty relevant, sites have eased into the top
twenty.

Still a few oddballs here and there, but overall the SERPs are looking
better, not worse.

I have noticed irrelevant search results being more prominentin google
lately. It used to be that google results for searches were very relevant,
but lately I have noticed having to go through more and more results to get
anything of substance. MSN and Yahoo are giving much more relevant results.

I think it's an end of the year wrap up algo and it should change again,
probably back to what it was a few days ago sometime during the first
week of January. Right now my number one site is the same one that was
number one most of the year at my serp but dropped from number one a few
months ago and was replaced by another site of mine. That site dropped
all the way down to page 12 now and my older number one is number one
again but shouldn't be. I think this is google's way of doing their top
ten countdown of the year right before new years so I call it the end of
the year algo. This is where they give out the oscars for seo of
websites with chrissy taking best pic, actress, director ect... and I
want to thank all the little people that made this possible.... You know
I went the entire year having the number one site at my serp 99% of the
time and even had a few days here and there where I had all ten on page
one. True it's not a real hard serp I will admit but it's not a super
easy one either. I've also had my fair share of competitors as well.
Right now I'm engaged in a one on one war with the number one biggest
spammer of the internet and I'm winning! You would probably recognize
some of his sites, he has thousands of them, both real domains and free
hosted and creates thousands of pages for each site he does. This guy, I
think it's a guy, is into literally everything from drugs, porno,
gambling, you name it he sells it online or trys to anyway although I
don't see many of his sites listed very high up. He's a lousy SEO this
guy is but one hell of a big spammer, the biggest on the net. I believe
I know who he is but can't prove it, yet. But he'll slip up once and
then I'll be able to and it may shock and surprise everyone here who he
is as I think, but not positive, that it's someone right here from this
group.

I noticed last night - or the night before? - that the number of
results for some SERPs was a lower number than previously shared in
the past. This also had some unusual shifting of some of the results
but nothing dramatic as a few hours later I repeated the search and
the results numbers were back to their current range.

So looked like a temporary flux on my side.

All three search engines have their perks and negatives.

I dont' feel MSN's results are yet something worth to write home
about; I know some are eager for it to go out of BETA but most of
those I've noticed sharing that sentiment are also ones claiming their
sites are on the Top 10 in MSN (but not so on Yahoo or Google).

Yahoo - although I rank well on their search engine, I also find
myself - when using it to do a search - getting some irrelevant
results blended in. No different than at Google or MSN but on Yahoo
they share a problem with MSN beta where on-page spamming being easier
to pull off in one's favor.

This is not taking into consideration that Google claims to have more
pages indexed than Yahoo and Yahoo supposedly having more indexed than
MSN beta right now.

On some searches, Yahoo does benefit from a "less is best" thought and
the search results bringing up something that I was seeking. But most
of the time I still fare well on finding the pages/content I am
looking for through Google and usually within the first two pages. So
I can't say Google is losing relevancy on my side of the deal either.
